Njoki with Gulaš

A very popular and traditional dish in Istria are Njoki (Gnocchi). The basic ingredients are potato flour, eggs, salt and water. Originally gnocchi are served with meat stews from deer, rabbit or boar, the so called Šugo in Istrian dialect.
In our case it was beef meat, we’d say. Anyway it was cooked by Ms Zigante since the early morning, super soft and really really tasty. A bit of Parmesan on top of it, some wine directly from the cellar next door and a real Istrian taste explosion was ready to get off. BOOM!
Did we mentioned that we were very hungry after running around the whole day?

Lamponi e Sangue di Giuda / Raspberry and “Sangue di Giuda” wine

Lamponi (ma vanno bene altre bacche di bosco), vino rosso dolce e leggero, zucchero. Lasciare in frigo per un’oretta. In questo caso ho usato Sangue di Giuda dell’Oltrepò Pavese.
Raspberry (or other kind of berry), light sweet wine (I used Sangue di Giuda from Oltrepò Pavese), a spoon or two of sugar. Leave 1 hour in the fridge before eating/drinking.
